Walnut harvesting on industrial walnut plantations

Industrial walnut plantations give a huge harvest. These are tens and thousands of tons of walnuts, which, after harvesting, must be quickly cleaned of the green pericarp and its residues, and dried to the optimum moisture content.

Cleaning the green pericarp of a walnut is a must. After all, it allows you to preserve the appearance of the nut and its quality. The walnut with the remains of the pericarp or dark spots from it is not attractive to buyers and exporters, and the profit from its sale is much lower.

The moisture content of a walnut is an important indicator that orchard owners, nut buyers and processors pay attention to. With high humidity, the nut is not suitable for long-term storage, as it quickly deteriorates.

After walnut orchards start fruiting, owners often face the problem of drying the walnut. The first crops, which usually range from several buckets of nuts, are dried naturally – in the open air in the shade or in a ventilated room. Drying large volumes of walnuts naturally is problematic.

For small industrial plantations, we offer separate installations – nut cleaners from green pericarp and dryers.

Large orchards need automated industrial complexes. We design such complexes according to the individual needs of the customer.

The complex includes:

  • nut cleaners from green pericarp;
  • washing – grinding the walnut, which will remove all remaining microparticles of the pericarp and lightly polish the shell;
  • conveyors for automated movement of nuts between machines;
  • nut dryers.
