Industrial line for processing walnuts at 500 kg/h

An industrial line involves maximum automation and a minimum of manual labor. This ensures the stability and continuity of the process.

The 500 kg/h walnut processing line consists of a rotary calibrator, a cone nutcracker, an aspiration shaker, lifting conveyors, inspection and bulkhead tables.

The rotary calibrator is distinguished by high-quality sorting of in-shell nuts. Its productivity is up to 500 kg/h.

In industrial processing, only cone nutcrackers are used, since they have the most gentle splitting and give a high percentage of whole kernels. The line for 500 kg/h requires two cone nutcrackers, each of which is capable of cracking about 200 kg of nuts per hour.

Then, using a lifting conveyor, the split nut is moved to a zaranda vibratoria con aspiración, where the split nut is sorted – the shell, partitions and debris are blown out, and the kernel is sorted into fractions of ½ (half/whole kernel), ¼ (quarter), 1/8 (eight) and not cracked nut. Not cracked nut is sent to a manual finisher. For manual cracking, pickers are needed on the basis that one person is able to sort through 17-25 kg of cracked walnuts per day. To increase the efficiency of the bulkheads’ work, special tables are used, they have a contrasting tabletop, a lighting system, a convenient arrangement of boxes and technological holes, which eliminates unnecessary movements.

The final stage of processing is visual quality control of the finished product. While moving on the belt inspection table, workers inspect the products, remove accidentally fallen shell pieces, partitions or other debris, as well as damaged or unsuitable kernels in size or color.

A color separator can be used to separate the kernel by color.

Next, the kernel is packed according to the customer’s request for walnut kernels.
