Harvesting is not an easy job, it takes a lot of time and effort, and can even harm your health. Therefore, in industrial gardens, special tools and harvesting equipment are used to harvest fruits.
The quickest and easiest way to harvest the fruit is to shake it off the tree and onto the ground. It is not safe to do this by hand – fruits may fall on your head, or you may stumble and fall off the tree. Moreover, it takes a long time.
In industrial gardens, it is important to harvest the entire crop quickly and cost-effectively. For this, tree shakers are used. The principle of their operation is simple: the shaker is attached to the tractor shaft, the cable is fixed to a tree or branch and the drive starts. Thus, it only takes one person and one minute to shake the tree. In order not to harm the tree, in trees with a height of 7 m, each branch is shaken separately. The tree shaker is a versatile equipment for any fruit tree, it can be shaken: walnuts, apples, pears, plums, olives, etc.
To make it easier to collect walnuts and other fruits from the ground, an awning is spread under the tree before shaking. Alternatively, you can use walnut and fruit pickers.
Harvesting rolls help you quickly and without bending to collect fruits from the ground. Due to their ease of use and availability, the rolls are used both at home and in industrial gardens. Walnut harvesting rolls are especially useful for elderly people and those who have back problems, since you do not need to bend over with them: to collect them, you need to smoothly slide over the place of accumulation of fruits, and for unloading, a triangle fixed on the container is used.
Depending on the size, the rolls are:
- For collecting hazelnuts, acorns, almonds, bear nuts and fruits with a diameter of 0.5 – 2 cm.
- For picking walnuts, chestnuts, plums, golf balls and fruit with a diameter of 2 – 5 cm.
- For picking apples, walnuts in a green pericarp, potatoes, pears, tennis balls and fruits with a diameter of 4-10 cm.
Harvesting equipment speeds up the harvesting process, reduces the labor force, reduces labor costs, prevents injury, allows you to finish harvesting on time and start selling or further processing nuts and fruits ahead of competitors.
