Automation refers to the replacement of manual labor with equipment where it is possible and will bring the greatest benefit. In the processing of walnuts, the movement of the walnut between installations, the cracking of the walnut, and the sorting of the kernel are automated.
Conveyors are used to moving walnuts between machines. They ensure a constant uniform supply of walnuts and uninterrupted operation of the plant. When using conveyor equipment, the maximum productivity of the entire line is achieved.
The cracking of a walnut that the nutcracker and sorting equipment could not cope with is usually done by hand. The more hard walnuts with thick shells, the more uncracked walnuts and personnel for manual cracking and sorting. To reduce the amount of manual labor and reduce the time for additional cracking, a breaker machine after the nutcracker is used. It can be installed right after the nutcracker if getting a whole kernel is not that important, or after the vibrating screen if the whole kernel is important.

To sort the kernel by color and size, as well as to exclude the final visual inspection of the kernel by personnel on the inspection tables, a color sorter can be used.
All this equipment is aimed at automation, in which personnel is needed only to control the operation of the enterprise.
