Manufacturing automation for smooth processing

The larger the production, the less manual labor should be. Automation makes it possible to increase processing volumes, increase speed, and minimize the “human factor” when workers did not come to work or did not fulfill their plan.

That is why large enterprises automate the processing process as much as possible, entrusting workers only with the work that the equipment cannot do – this is visual quality control of the final product and the bulkhead of the walnut, which the equipment did not cope with.

When completing an industrial line for the processing of walnuts or other products (vegetables, fruits, seafood, seeds, etc.), they often forget about moving the product between installations, and as a result, this work is done by hired movers. This threatens not only with additional costs for wages, but also with a slowdown in production. Manual loading and moving of walnuts between installations takes time and the equipment can run idle, losing the declared performance.

In the case of unfair performance of their duties, loaders can significantly reduce the volume of processing, which will negatively affect the profitability of the enterprise. Also, loading of some installations is physically impossible to perform manually – for example, the height of the walnut dryer is about 3 m, it is very problematic to lift a bag of walnuts to such a height, and even if it can be done, loading will take a long time.

To avoid such problems, conveyors are used to move the walnuts between the installations.

Lifting conveyors are designed to load walnuts into installations and move walnuts from one stage of processing to another. This could be:

  • unloading a walnut from a cleaner or sink into a dryer;
  • unloading from the dryer and loading the walnut into the calibrator;
  • moving from the calibrator to the nutcracker;
  • moving the cracked walnut from the nutcracker to the vibrating sieve;
  • moving from the vibrating screen to the color sorter, bulkhead or inspection tables;
  • moving from the inspection table to the packaging stage;
  • moving packaged products to a warehouse or for transportation.

The conveyor is manufactured on request for specific installations. Height, length, width and speed of the conveyor belt are agreed upon before ordering.

Elevating conveyors eliminate the need for manual loading and handling of nuts, ensure uninterrupted process, maximize equipment productivity, reduce labor costs,and prevent possible problems with workers.
